Assessing users' visual perception based on the regular and irregular geometry of space organizer
Perception is a cognitive process depends on various factors of the environment. The user's mentality can affect his perception, understanding, and behavior in the environment. Organizing the environment is one of the important factors in the formation of spatial communication of elements that can be an important factor in understanding the person from his or her surroundings. In this research,...
متن کاملParking and the visual perception of space
Using measured data we demonstrate that the statistical properties of the distances between parked cars and the distances between birds perching on a power line are identical. We show that this observation is easily explained by the fact that birds and humans use the same mechanism of distance estimation. We give a simple mathematical model of this phenomenon.
متن کاملVisual space perception and visually directed action.
The results of two types of experiments are reported. In 1 type, Ss matched depth intervals on the ground plane that appeared equal to frontal intervals at the same distance. The depth intervals had to be made considerably larger than the frontal intervals to appear equal in length, with this physical inequality of equal-appearing intervals increasing with egocentric distance of the intervals (...
متن کاملTraffic and the visual perception of space
During the attempt to line up into a dense traffic people have necessarily to share a limited space under turbulent conditions. From the statistical point view it generally leads to a probability distribution of the distances between the traffic objects (cars or pedestrians). But the problem is not restricted on humans. It comes up again when we try to describe the statistics of distances betwe...
متن کاملVisual perception of extent and the geometry of visual space
The question of how perceived extents are related to the corresponding physical extents is a very old question that has not been satisfactorily answered. The common model is that perceived extent is proportional to the product of image size and perceived distance. We describe an experiment that shows that perceived extents are substantially larger than this model predicts. We propose a model th...
